Wholemeal wraps
Grated cheese

Peel the avocado, remove the stone & cut into small pieces

Add the tomatoes, juice of 1/2 a lime and salt & pepper and mash it all up in a bowl

 Step 3:

This is what it should look like :)

Step 4:

Cut up the chicken, peppers and onions!

Step 5:

Heat some oil in a frying pan & add the chicken and the fajita mix and leave to cook for about 5 minutes!

Step 6:

Then add the vegetables and cook for a further 5 minutes or until cooked

Student recipe: Healthy soup!

Hello Everyone!

I've been a bit rubbish at blogging to say the least but I've been ridiculously busy with uni! I haven't been eating the right foods recently. Mostly quick and easy fast foods ect & now I feel its time that I should get myself back on track, & so I thought the perfect way to start this was by making a healthy vegetable soup using all my vegetables which look as though they are about to go off and I thought I would share the recipe with you guys :)

What I used:

2 onions
6 carrots
6 mushrooms
1/2 a courgette
3 cloves of garlic
a whole broccoli.
2 chicken stock cubes
1 vegetable stock cube
Salt & pepper to season!

Step 1:
Chop up your vegetables! It doesn't matter how neatly you cut them as your going to blend it all up anyway!

Step 2:
Put a frying pan on a medium heat. Add some olive oil, and then add the onions, mushrooms and garlic - fry until soft.

Step 3:
Whilst the onions ect are cooking fill a large pan with water and bring it to the boil then add your carrots and broccoli and boil until soft.

Step 4:
When everything is all nice and soft add the stock cubes to the boiling water & then blend it either using a hand blender or a food processor and then season with salt & pepper!

Step 5:

You should end up with something like this! Serve with a warm crusty roll or anything that takes your fancy!

This soup is so easy to make and is so good for you as well! You don't have to use the exact vegetables that I used, I just cleared out all the vegetables in my fridge which makes it a good meal for students too as its cheap and you don't end up throwing a load of food out at the end of the week! What could be better, a cheap, healthy, quick, easy meal to have on a cold winters day!

Give it a go and let me know what you think :)

Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil

Hello Everyone :)

I went shopping a few weeks ago and ended up in the Body Shop as per usual, and I ended up purchasing quite a few bits and pieces. One of the items was the Vitamin E facial oil. Im a big fan of the Vitamin E range, I tend to use the BB cream and the moisturisers from the range and so I  decided to try something new, so I picked this out...

As i've mentioned a few times throughout my blog, my skin tends to get extremely dry throughout the colder months so its SO important for me to have a good skin care routine during the colder months. Usually my skin would be really dry by now, but it isn't, so I reckon, this Vitamin E facial oil is helping my skin. Normally I would take my make-up off with a face wash and whack a load of moisturiser on and massage it into my skin. Now I do exactly the same but I use this before I apply my moisturiser.

Where this product is an oil I would only ever use it at night in order for it to sink into my skin, and I wouldn't be too keen putting it on in the morning before doing my make-up ect as I would find it too greasy. The oil is a pipet application which makes it easy too apply. When I use it, I use two drops on each side of my face and then rub it in around the rest of my face.

When I first got this product I wasn't too sure about it as I hadn't really noticed it before, however, I am so glad I did decide to purchase it. If you do suffer from dry skin then I would definitely recommend to purchase it and give it a go as I do believe my skin has benefited from this.

Are there any products in the Body Shop you would recommend? What are you loving at the moment?

Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo 24hr cream gel eyeshadow: Review

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I've been so rubbish recently with blogging. I've started my third year at uni so things have been pretty hectic to say the least..:|

Recently I purchased the Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo 24hr cream gel eyeshadow! I'm not a big eyeshadow lover, if I do wear eyeshadow I will wear it on a night out, but not during the day. However I saw this one in boots for £4.99 and thought I would purchase it & I am completely loving it.

It has a really nice creamy texture to it as you would expect it to as its in the name. I've worn it quite a few times now, and it definitely doesn't last for 24hrs but that doesn't bother me too much. I purchased the colour "And On Bronze" and I love it, its quite a subtle colour, however it looks really nice for a more casual daytime look. They have 9 different shades in this range and I will definitely be purchasing some more!

Do you have a favourite eyeshadow?

Topshop Coral Jumper :)

Hey Everyone :)

I went shopping the other day and I just chucked on this jumper a long with my Black disco pants with some ankle boots as I just wanted something comfy to wear to look around the shops & I had so many people come up to me saying they loved the jumper! So I thought I would do a little blog post and let you all know where I purchased it from! The jumper it self is from Topshop, its so comfy to wear with leggings/disco pants. The colour of it is beautiful. I wore my River Island gold chain necklace to go with it as I thought a statement necklace will complete the outfit.

Have you brought any nice winter jumpers yet?

Topshop Jersey Trousers :)

Hello Everyone :)

Jumper (old) - Urban outfitters

A few days a go I went shopping & went into Topshop as I do every time there is one in sight. There were so many things that I really liked and these trousers were one of the items that I fell in love with.
There are SO many trousers like these in various different prints and colours in high-street shops at the moment and I reckon there going to be really popular during A/W as there an alternative to leggings and very stylish.

As soon as I tried these on I just knew that I had to buy them. They are so comfy and you can dress them up or down. I wore mine last night to go out for a meal, and I teamed them with an old Urban Outfitters jumper that I got last year in the sale, and I added my gold chunky chain River Island necklace to dress the outfit up a bit and on my feet I wore some ankle boots from Office which I also got last year in the sale!

On the whole I really LOVE this outfit & I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of these trousers. I would wear this outfit to go shopping or for drinks to a bar with the girls.

Are there any clothes your loving this A/W? let me know what you think of this outfit I would love to know! Leave a comment below!

Freshers Tips! :)

Hey Everyone, hope your all okay :)

As i've mentioned a few times throughout my blog I attend university and Im going into my third and final year, which makes me very sad!

However, there will be quite a few people who will be starting uni either this week or next week, moving into halls, experiencing their first ever FRESHERS week, moving away from home for the first time, moving too a different part of the world, the list could go on! and it all can be a very daunting experience so if you are one of those people here are a few tips which helped me settle in to the uni life and made things a lot more enjoyable for me. :)

1.
First thing is, before you even move to uni, go shopping and buy lots of things to make your new room at uni whether its in halls or in a shared house cosy! This is a MUST. Buy colourful bed sheets, pillows ect. When I moved into halls I colour co-ordinated everything so my room was all pink and purple as they are two of my favourite colours :) make sure you have enough of everything too especially as you might not be going home much & have lots of photos to scatter around your room! I would also recommend taking a TV with you if you can.

2.
Get someone close to you to help you move in, whether its your parents, best friend, boyfriend. This will make things a lot easier for you as moving in day can be very stressful and having someone you feel comfortable with will help you feel more relaxed and will make it a less daunting experience. Also if your new to the town, city where your uni is after you've sorted your room out have a look around to make yourself feel more at home and used to the place you will be living for the next 3 years or more!

3.
If your sharing a kitchen, make sure one of the first things you do is go in there, 99% of the time there will be at least one person in there, start a conversation with them, ask them how they are, how they found moving in, which cupboard you can use. Just to get the conversation started. Also eat your food in the kitchen too, as weird as this sounds , the kitchen is where friendships happen in halls. - thats what  I found anyway.

4.
Try and find out what is going on the day you've moved in. There will be loads of different fresher events, see where everyone is going. They will most likely invite you too. If they don't ask whether they mind if you can go with them. The people who you tend to go out with during freshers week are the people you are living with not the people on your course.

5.
DON'T take loads of money out on your first night. You won't need it. Drinks will be cheap and you will most likely pre-drink too. If you take loads of money out you will be tempted to spend it and thats what you don't want to do as you will be going out loads so you will need money for all the other nights.

6.
If your not one for going out and there are a few people who don't want to go out either, why not suggest watching a film together? Go to the shop get some sweets, chocolate and popcorn and have a night in?

7.
BUDGET YOUR MONEY. This is vital, I know when you get your student loans its so tempting to just spend it all and go crazy, but you will regret it at the end of term when your living of super noodles!

8.
Talk to people and get involved in everything! If there is someone who is shy. Involve them as much as you can.

9.
ATTEND your welcome day. If you don't when you start your lectures you will find it harder to engage with people on your course as they will already know each other. You will also find it hard making your way around uni and knowing where to be at what time and who to go to if you have a problem.

10.
Last but not least, never feel like you have no one to turn to or your the only one feeling the way you are. Everyone around you at uni will be in the same boat as you. Make the most of it, get involved in everything you can. And make loads of amazing memories! People do not lie when they say, Uni is the best years of your life!

Are you going to uni if so which one? I would love to know! Leave a comment below!

Hey Everyone,

Here are a few beauty products which I have purchased recently and thought I would share them with you. :)

I've heard from loads of people that the Kate Moss lipsticks by Rimmel London are absolutely amazing and so good for the money that you pay for them, so I thought I would get on the bandwagon and purchase a few. I got the matte finish one because I loved this colour (110) I thought its such a lovely everyday lipstick colour. Its bright yet subtle which I like.

I also went on to purchase some dry shampoo. Its one of those essential items for me that I would not be able to live without now I've used it. I love the Batiste range especially this cherry one as it smells amazzinngg. I don't just use dry shampoo when Im in a rush and haven't got time to wash my hair I also use it on bad hair days when I feel my hair is very flat (one of my pet hates) as it tends to give my hair quite a bit of volume which I LOVE.

Im a sucker for going into Topshop every time I go shopping. Its just that one shop that even if I don't need anything from there I just NEED to go in there. Anyway, the last time i went into Topshop i purchased this new Illuminator which I absolutely love. It gives a really nice colour to your face when you put it on and gives you a really healthy glow which you definitely need in the winter months!

There is nothing worse for me than going on a night out with your friends, wearing your favourite heels, or just a pair of heels, and the next morning your feet are in absolute bits. The bottom of your feet are all dry and rough and they just need a bit of TLC, whilst browsing round Boots I saw that Soap & Glory did this Heel Genius cream/moisturiser so I thought i would buy it and give it a go. I am yet to try it so when I do, I will do a review about it and let you know what I think :)

Every girl needs a red lipstick in their life & after hearing great reviews about the Rimmel Kate Moss range I thought I would purchase this lovely red one too. :)

Are there any beauty products you have purchased recently? I would love to know!

Quick, easy & healthy breakfast bars!

Hey Everyone!

Breakfast is probably the most important meal of the day and is the secret to staying healthy. Me being your typical uni student 9 times out of 10 I get out of bed in the morning have a quick wash, do my hair & make-up and quickly put some clothes on & rush to uni and skip breakfast which is so bad & the only reason why I do this is because I love my bed & my sleep way too much! But who doesn't?

Not only is breakfast good for your diet and to make you stay healthy but it will help you concentrate at work, college, school or uni. The worst thing is getting to work or uni ect, and the only thing being on your mind is food and the next thing that you are going to eat, and until you actually get the food into your body you tend to be moody and grouchy!

When i do eat breakfast at uni, I tend to opt for the quicker things to make or have such as cereal bars - something that isn't too hard and time consuming to make. However shop brought breakfast bars have loads of hidden fats, sugars and calories in them - SO, why not make your own? Thats exactly what i did.

I got inspiration for this recipe from Nigela Lawson, however I changed some of the ingredients due to me being allergic to peanuts! (Im not allergic to almonds, weird I know,  If you are allergic to nuts why not add more fruit and seeds as a substitute?)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

- 390g Condensed milk
- 250g Porridge oats
- 50g Goji Berries
- 50g Dried cranberries
- 75g Seedless raisons
- 63g Sunflower seeds
- 63g Sesame seeds
-100g Almonds

(You don't have to use the fruits, nuts and seeds if you are allergic ect, you can pretty much put whatever you like in them!)

 STEP 1:

- Preheat the over to 130 degrees & line a deepish baking tray with greaseproof paper

STEP 2:

- Heat the condensed milk in a saucepan ( a big enough pan so you can add everything else to it) and stir it for about 2 minutes. You will be able to feel it go thinner.

STEP 3:

- Once the milk has thinned out add all the ingredients to the pan and take it off the heat. Stir well with a wooden spoon or something similar and ensure that all the ingredients are covered in the milk.

STEP 4:

- When the mixture has been stirred and you think it is sticky enough, transfer it to the baking tray evenly and flatten with a spatula.

STEP 5:

- Place in the oven for around 30mins, this should be the right amount of time for them to be hard yet chewy.  If you want them extra crunchy leave them in a bit longer until they are ready how you like them.

STEP 6:

- Leave to cool down for 15mins and then cut them into squares or however you would like them1 I got around 15 pieces. Place them into an air-tight container and they will last you all week!

STEP 7:

- Put your feet up and eat one with a cup of tea, or take one to have on your journey to uni!

Enjoy!

Is there anything quick & easy you like to have for breakfast? Let me know what you think of this recipe!

The Ivy.

Hey Everyone!

For my 22nd birthday which seems like it was ages ago now I decided that I wanted to go to the Ivy. I had already been here before with my mum for lunch and we had such a nice time with a bottle of wine and some amazing food!

On my actual birthday I like to spend it with my family and maybe some close friends too, but on the actual day of my birthday I always like to be with my family. So my mum , brother and my boyfriend came along to the Ivy with me :)

We started of our evening in Covent Garden in Brasserie Blanc, you have to go up some stairs to get there and you can watch the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden while sipping on a nice refreshing drink which is always a nice way to start of an evening. The staff in there are always really friendly and attentive too!

Me & my Mum in Brasserie Blanc
We then headed to the Shard ( The tallest building in London by London Bridge) to meet my brother and thought it would be appropriate to have a drink there as it was a special occasion. The drinks there are quite expensive, however, it does depend on what you order. You can have a glass of wine, their cheapest one is £5 something which isn't too bad considering the surroundings. BUT try and avoid going there when its cloudy as you don't get the best view of London.

View from The Shard. It was very grey & cloudy when we went!
After a few drinks here, we got a taxi to The Ivy where we had our meal. We went on a Monday evening & on a Monday they serve they fixed price menu all day which is good if you want "fine dining" but want to keep the cost down a bit. My mum and I ordered of the fixed price menu. And my brother and my boyfriend ordered of the A La Carte. The presentation and the quality of the food you cannot fault.

My mackerel salad starter.
Corn Fed Chicken.
Knickerblocker Glory.

If you are looking for a place for a special occasion then The Ivy is deffinitely a restaurant that I would recommend. The food is perfect so is the atmosphere. The staff are very attentive at all times and it certainly was a night and birthday to remember!

Do you have any restaurants that are your favourites?

My weekend wish-list...

Hello everyone!
It seems like our summer in the UK is now, officially over! And what better way to start Autumn by sorting out our wardrobe for the new season and treating yourself to some new clothes, shoes and accessories?

I've been browsing the internet, and doing a bit of internet shopping and looking at clothes which I want, unfortunately though being a student I don't have the money to get them all so I thought I would share with you the things that I would like to own throughout the winter months.

Being at uni, I think these boots will be amazing just to quickly put on in the morning to add a finishing touch to a basic outfit such as leggings and an oversized jumper or T-shirt and I am loving the harness style to have to them to make them look different and not your average boring black ankle boots.

I love the colour of this dress - its such a bold colour and with the jewel studs you won't need to worry about accessories to go with it. You can team the dress with black ankle boots and a black clutch bag for a casual look or heals for a more going out look and for the price, I personally think is a bargain & will be good for a night out back at uni with your friends!

I love this bag. It has 3 compartments to it which is so good to fit everything into it that you need. It reminds me a bit of the Micheal Kors bags but the price tag is a lot cheaper which is an added bonus!

I think joggers are going to be a key piece this season as all the high-street stores seem to have them in! I already own a pair and there so comfy you can dress them up or you can go for a casual look with them too so you know your going to be getting your moneys worth! I love the print of these ones. If your going for a casual look you can wear a cropped black jumper with a statement necklace and some pumps or boots. & for a night time look you could team them with a crop top and a statement necklace.

During the colder months everyone needs jumpers especially cosy ones! After reading reviews of this one on the Topshop website it seems to be oversized so you could team it with leggings, a shirt underneath the jumper and converse or vans for a more casual everyday look.

These leggings are such a bargain! Leggings are a good wardrobe essential to me as their so comfy these ones you could team them with the red Topshop quilted jumper (above) and converse or black ankle boots and a statement necklace!

Is there anything that you have seen in the shops that you want?

Clarins - My life saviour!

Since a young age, I've always suffered with dry skin. During my childhood I had really bad eczema and dry skin too. As I reached my teenage years it became more of a problem to me as I started to get paranoid about it and wanted to get rid of it & no matter what I tried nothing EVER seemed to work, it always worked to a certain extent and then tablets, creams ect wouldn't do anything. Luckily i've seemed to of grow out of it, but sometimes when I'm stressed or upset I will get it back a bit, I tend to get really bad skin during the colder months too & we get a lot of them in England.

I've been using these products for about 2 years now. Since i've been at uni I haven't been one for using expensive products, but I find if I don't then my skin will always be dry. Luckily I don't get spots & oily skin so Im lucky in that respect. When my skin is very dry I use the intensive serum and then I apply the cream afterwards. When my skin is good ( like it is now) I use the body lotion on my face and all over my body after a shower ect. If it wasn't for these products I don't know what I would do, so if you suffer with dry skin I would definitely recommend these products to you.

Do you suffer from dry skin? - If you do what do you find works for you?

Love Playsuit.

Hey everyone,

I've had a pretty busy week this week! It was my birthday on Monday so I am now officialy 22! & then I went to Pisa/Florence with my Mum for a few days so I will be doing a few blog posts relating to them within the next week hopefully!  What Im sharing with you now is one of the outfits that I actually wore in Italy as I thought you would all like it :)

Im a bit of a sucker for a playsuit I love them. I think there so girly and you don't have to decide for ages what top you are going to wear with it ect. This one I purchased in Topshop & is buy Love Label. I think Love Label do so many nice things & this playsuit is perfect for summer. You can either make it look casual or smart. I wore my white Vans with it but you can were sandals/flip flops or even wedges or heels. What ever you fancy!

Friday 2 August 2013

Outfit of the day :)

How beautiful has the weather been recently, although it has been way too humid! I've never done an outfit of the day post before but after looking at different blogs they seem to be very popular so I thought I would get on the bandwagon :)

I took these pictures quickly yesterday just before I went out for a lovely pub lunch with my Mum & thought it was a nice casual day outfi to wear on nice summer days that we get in England or on holiday :) The white top is a really nice light material and with it being quite an oversized top its very cool to wear in the hot weather. I teamed it with my all time favourite vintage Levis shorts that I got a few years a go from Urban Outfitters! If your going for a casual look then you could wear either Converse or Vans with this outfit or if you are after a more of a girly look then some nice sandals or flip flops!  On cloudy days like today you could wear the top with skinny jeans & a jacket to go for a more smart/casual look.

Hi- Shine!

Hey everyone!

I've been so busy with work these last few weeks, but when I have had a few spare minutes to go onto my laptop I've been reading a few of my favourite blogs to see what products I can put on my never ending wish list! One item that I had to go out and buy as so many people have been raving about it is the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail varnish!

During the summer months I always think its nice to have lovely bright painted nails and they always look a whole lot better when you have a tan as well! I'm normally a big fan of the Topshop nail varnishes as I love all the different colours they have and their limited eddition ones too! However I thought it was time to give the Barry M ones a go and so far, I am really pleased with them :)

I thought I would purchase two of them. I chose the orangey/red coloured, (satsuma 327) one as I always go for this colour on my nails ( or something similar) & then I thought I would have a change and go for a pastel blue coloured nail varnish, (Blueberry 328) for a change to add to my never ending collection!

Barry M Hi-Shine Nail Varnish £3.99
As soon as I got home I thought I would give them a go & they are my new favourite. I've had it on for 3 days now and it hasn't chipped which I find happens a lot with the Topshop ones. They also have a really nice finish on your nails and you can get away with putting one coat of it on and its fast drying too. & for £3.99 you can't really go wrong? So I can deffinitely see myself buying a few more of these!

Have you got a favourite nail varnish or any you would reccomend?

Dinner at The Dorchester

Last month it was my boyfriends birthday, I wanted to do something special for him as it was the first birthday of his that I’ve spent with him. He is EXTREMELY hard to take out for a meal as he’s a very talented Head Chef & whenever we do go out for a meal he is so hard to please.

He had been saying to me that he would love to go to The Dorchester is one place that he has always wanted to go to, so I looked on the well-known TopTable (which have some amazing deals) and I booked a table at The Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane and I am so glad I did. They do special offers all throughout the week. We had their set menu which is £35 for 3 courses which is an amazing price for the quality of the food and service. You are supposed to get a glass of champagne included with that but I think they forgot but we felt rude to ask! However we did order a bottle of wine & 2 cocktails which were both amazzzzinngggg!!

If you are looking for some where to go for a special occasion and want very good food then I would highly recommend to go to The Dorchester, but it would be recommendable to save up some money before you go as it can be expensive! The total of our bill came to £115 including service, but for what we had and the quality of it I wouldn’t complain as there are so many places where I have eaten out and the bill has been around the same price and no where near as good!

It’s a place for a special occasion, would highly recommend!

Me & craig with our cocktails! Craig isn't very good at taking photos so I had to edit mine slightly!

Our amazing starters I had Asparagus & I've forgotten what craigs was but he said it was amazing! & they gave us a beetroot and makeral moose before our main starters came!

My main course, which was salmon and was cooked perfectly! For some reason I haven't got a picture of Craigs main course, but he had lamb shoulder which he loved!

The best part about any meal is the deserts! Before we got our actual deserts they gave us a sorbet type thing in order to clense out pallette which was really good and refreshing! I then had a bannana and lemon parfait with a coconut moose and craig had rhubarb and custard which came with honeycomb and a strawberry sauce which looked and tasted amazing!

I told the staff that it was Craigs birthday and after our desert they brought out the chocolate cake which looked amazing and wrote happy birthday on a plate for him as well which was a really nice touch. However we were too full to even attempt to eat it so they put it in a bag/box for us to take away with us. As you can see Craig seems very amused by the bag/box they gave us. Another year older but he doesn't act it unfortunately!
